In class writing #3 schermerhorn

1.      The image of the man and woman wearing similar clothes and the text “good Work Sister” at the top shows the equality between the two genders.
2.      The purpose is to inform women of their new role and acceptance in the workforce, the text “we never figures you could so a man-sized job” is creating a sense of amazement in the abilities of women in this era, they are also congratulating them in their ability to get so far.
3.      The audience would be women who are in the workforce or are thinking of joining, the ad is setting a sense of welcoming from the men in the factories by the smile and expression on his face.
4.      I believe the creator is the government or big companies trying to recruit women to the workforce.
5.      They appeal to logos with the text “America’s women have met the test,” if other women can meet the requirements why can’t you. This ad appeals to ethos by creating a sense of ethical appeal in wanting to do your part, to help do a “man-sized job.” Last but not least the ad also appeals to pathos with showing that everyone needs to help do their part to have victory.
6.      With the culture context women in this era were supposed to stay home with the kids, cook and clean; this ad is defying all odds stating that women can equal men in the workforce and industry jobs.
